Organization ProfileWells for Relief International, Inc is a “not for profit” corporation organized in the United States of America with a mission to provide safe drinking water throughout the world. The corporation’s goal is simple; alleviate the suffering of people around the world caused by inadequate and unsafe water supplies. Our projects are selected through detailed evaluations of need, probability of locating an underground water source, and water quality. We use a staff of skilled drinking water and water quality specialists from America to work in unison with the appropriate local authorities and experts to identify, design, build and maintain the water systems. Wells for Relief International Inc. uses its funds to finance the installation of the water project infrastructure as well as providing continued maintenance and management of the site. We include a detailed educational program for the local water system authorities so they can responsibly maintain the water system, monitor the water quality, evaluate future needs and have pride of ownership. Our financial viability is controlled 100% by donations from around the world. We don’t sell the water systems, we donate them. We expect the local authorities, governments and benefactors of the water systems to donate their resources as a partnership in the evaluation, design, installation and maintenance of the system. Their expertise regarding local water resources, geological data, quality of local road access to sites, language interpretation, and knowledge of local laws governing the operation of our company and water well drilling is essential in making our projects a success. Wells for Relief International Inc. uses water as a tool to help people help themselves. We believe that assessable quality water is a major foundation for peace and stability in the world. Name ChangeWells for Life International has now become Wells for Relief International. Wells for Life was founded in 2004, as a non-profit corporation and did not realize that another non-profit company had been started with the same name in 2002. The other company is based in Kansas and is currently funding water projects in India. Wells for Life of Kansas had trade marked its’ name in 2006 and requested we change our name so as not to confuse potential donors. We decided that the long term benefit outweighed the short term inconvenience of the name change, so we legally changed its’ name to Wells for Relief International. Nothing else has changed in regards to the corporation other than the name change. |
