Wells for Relief and its’ partners in Ghana

Wells for Relief is committed to serving as many people as possible through the generous donations of its’ supporters. We believe we can accomplish this objective by teaming up with established organizations with the same fundamental principles. The two organizations WFR is partnering with in Ghana are Africa’s Hope and Lifetime Wells for Ghana.

Lifetime Wells for Ghana is a non-profit company founded by Ken Wood, owner of Lifetime Wells, located in Denton Maryland. Ken is a very experienced mud-rotary driller and has installed over 500 wells in the Volta region of Ghana as of 2011. These wells are serving in excess of 300,000 people in southeastern Ghana. Lifetime Wells has installed wells in most of the region where mud-rotary drilling is required. In order to expand its’ reach, Lifetime Wells must start drilling wells in hard rock areas. This is where Wells for Relief will help the water projects to continue.

Wells for Relief has extensive experience with air rotary drilling which is the technique needed to successfully drill productive water wells in the rock. WFR has helped supply the necessary drilling equipment and expertise so the number of people receiving clean water will continue to increase.

In addition to the drilling support, Wells for Relief will be very active in the maintenance of the hundreds of hand pumps that have been installed. Sustainability of these projects is of the utmost importance, and we feel we can be very helpful in this area.
