in rural Ghana are forced to rely on surface water, i.e. rivers,
swamps, drainage ditches, etc. and often have to walk several miles
to the closest source.

on the coast to the west of Algeria. Very little rain falls on the
country for 6 months of the year. Obtaining safe, clean water in
isolated villages throughout the countryside is one of the challenges
faced by the poor.
